Echo Wu is a Chinese-Australian artist born in Nanjing, China. Echo studied Chinese Brush Painting in Nanjing Normal University.
In 2009, Echo founded Echoʼs Chinese Painting Studio. In 2013, she won the Gold Prize for the “Golden Bauhinia Cup HongKong Invitation Competition for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy” out of around 3000 applications across China and overseas.
In 2015,2018 and 2021 Echo was invited to have a solo exhibition at Box Hill Town Hall Gallery Art Space. She became the first artist to hold an exhibition of Chinese paintings at the City Hall Gallery. Since 2011, Echo has been invited to exhibit in the Hawthorn Town Hall Gallery, Box Hill Town Hall Gallery, and the Highway Gallery with her students, as well as a few solo exhibitions in the Monash City Library.
In 2015, 2016 and 2018, Echo gained entry to the Camberwell Art Show, and successfully sold a number of artworks. In 2014, Echo was invited to the Mount View Art Show andwon the Highly Commended Prize.
In 2019, Echo was invited to run a Teacher’s brush painting Masterclass during the period of the Terracotta Warriors exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria.
With more than a decade of teaching experience, Echo has earned an excellent reputation in both teaching and her artistic endeavours.
Her paintings are collected privately and by councils.
